THAKUR RESIDENCE

Completed : 2016; 1500 sq.ft.

The interior design for Thakur residence was an experiment in using raw finishes and marrying them with sophisticated contemporary materials. The highlight elements were made in exposed brick arranged in various bonds to achieve different conditions like corbelling, shelves, niches, etc. This was in turn combined with clean cut wooden elements to create a cosy yet elegant space.

Given the limited size of the spaces the use of small dashes of colour was employed to highlight but at the same time not constrict the area. Space division in the lower floor was done through wooden elements in order to keep the space light and visually connected. A sliding folding door partition system was employed in order to segregate one space to be used as a guest bedroom from time to time.
