About us
The FORUM was established in 2011, with the aim to cater to all requirements for disciplines of contemporary space design. The focus of Forum Architecture is to marry small scale design detail in all scales of projects and cater to the finer elements of design while negotiating realistic parameters of time, finance and market.
Over the years the firm has grown to do a variety of retail projects, residences, offices as well as public use spaces. It is the focus of the firm to be able to approach each project uniquely keeping in mind their’ s as well as the clients’ aspirations. The look and feel of each project is finely tuned to the requirement of the project, its budget and the clients personality while at the same time not compromising on aesthetic and design quality.
In recent projects and pitches Forum Architecture is also pushing for the use of reclaimed and local materials as far as possible to limit wastage of both resources and energy. This can be seen in a school the firm has completed in Madhya Pradesh for Adharshila Shiksha Samiti using local materials with the attempt to make a low cost but aesthetically and functionally sound building. They are also involved with master-planning and architectural extensions in the campus for the Society for Technology and Development, Nagwain, Himachal Pradesh where the design involves use of compressed earth blocks manufactured at site as the main building material. The firm has also recently completed master-planning and unit designing for Cheri Retirement Homes, Kerala. The use of a rat trap brick bonding system is being approached in a cottage under construction in Andretta, Himachal Pradesh. They hope to be able to convince more clients to take this path or at least be introduced to their responsibility towards the environment.
Recently, the firm has completed a public art project for Delhi Metro at Kashmere Gate Metro station where a low cost art installation was created and conceptualised as a system of layers that tells the story of the Kashmere Gate historical precinct through multiple media like screens, GI sheet prints and 3 dimensional building elements. The purpose of the installation was to give artistic relief to a very busy concourse and at the same time give information about the historical precint without compromising on factors like fire safety, approachability, longevity and budget.
The firm works consistently on office and retail interior projects pan India as well as various scales of residences and hospitality projects. Currently the office is also working on their first university project in Sikkim
.
For their work Forum Architecture has received many National and internation recognitions including the prestigious IIA Young Architect of the Chapter award as well as the iGen 50 under 40 architects in India award. The firm has recently also been recognised for sustainable design as well as overall performance as a firm through various platforms like HUDCO Design Awards, Wade Asia, Aces of Space, Commercial Design Awards, All India Stone Architecture Awards, etc.
