This residence in the heart of south Delhi was a trip in nostalgia for the Lal family. A house 40 year old house made by the family was refurbished while maintaining the look and nostalgia of its old world charm .Terrazo floors were extended, old stone floors were maintained and a collection of art work through generations was highlighted through careful articulation through space and lighting. Exquisite pieces of Tanjore art were made the highlight of the living room, framing them and providing a spatial reaction to their grandeur. The old Terazzo floor was maintained while the dining and bar extended the finish into contemporary patters using brass highlights and coloured cement patterns.
